Airlines Halt Flights Amid Middle East Conflict Concerns
Flying into conflict: Middle East turmoil leads airlines worldwide to halt flights over safety concerns. Leading carriers such as Aegean Airlines, Air France-KLM, and Delta cancel or suspend services to major regional hubs, including Tel Aviv, Beirut, and Baghdad, as conflict uncertainties persist.
Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, international airlines are suspending or rerouting flights to ensure passenger safety. A wide array of carriers have announced halts, directly impacting major destinations such as Tel Aviv, Beirut, and Baghdad.
Greek carrier Aegean Airlines and the Algerian Air Algerie, along with several others, have ceased operations to Beirut. Meanwhile, Air France-KLM has extended suspensions of its flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut into early next year, with similar measures by Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and British Airways affecting Tel Aviv routes until at least March 2025.
The decision by these airlines underscores the severe impact of geopolitical conflicts on global aviation, affecting both scheduled passenger travel and the broader travel and tourism sectors in the region.
