An explosion at a Louisville, Kentucky factory has resulted in the deaths of two employees, according to a company statement released on Wednesday. The blast caused significant damage, leading to a partial building collapse and shattered windows in nearby neighborhoods.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at Givaudan Sense Colour, a facility known for producing colorings for food and beverages. Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg confirmed that many individuals were rescued and evacuated by firefighters, with some suffering life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have ensured that all employees present at the plant during the explosion have been accounted for. At least 11 workers were reported to have been hospitalized. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, though initial reports from those inside suggested no unusual activity before the event.
