Dubai is making a significant stride towards urban aerial transport by approving its first aerial taxi vertiport near Dubai International Airport. This initiative positions the city as a frontrunner in offering aerial urban mobility.
The highly anticipated vertiport, authorized by Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is designed to integrate with Dubai's skyline, providing a distinctive and efficient experience for aerial commuters.
With an area of 3,100 square meters, the vertiport will accommodate 42,000 landings and 170,000 passengers annually. The project, scheduled to launch in early 2026, is a collaboration with Joby Aviation and Skyports, ensuring adherence to top global safety standards.
