In an effort to bolster national security measures, multiple security agencies conducted a mock drill at the Chenab Railway Bridge, situated in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. The drill aimed to test the preparedness of forces in tackling potential security threats, according to an official statement.
The Chenab Railway Bridge, renowned as the world's highest rail bridge, is a crucial segment of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla section of the Kashmir Railway project. During the drill, district police, along with six other security entities, including the Central Reserve Police Force and the Railway Protection Force, participated in this exercise.
Emphasizing the strategic importance of this infrastructure, the bridge, which stands taller than the Eiffel Tower, is engineered to resist significant natural and man-made calamities. The completed bridge is set to enhance connectivity across the Kashmir region, with rail services expected to commence soon following successful trials.
