Andhra Pradesh's Finance Minister, Payyavula Keshav, presented a substantial budget for the 2024-25 financial year, with planned spending of Rs2,94,427.25 crore. The budget is designed to align with the state's overarching vision of 'Swarna Andhra@2047' and underscores the administration's commitment to tackling challenges inherited from previous regimes.

The expenditure plan incorporates Rs2,35,916.99 crore for revenue and Rs32,712.84 crore for capital expenditure. Projected deficits include a revenue shortfall of Rs34,743.38 crore and a fiscal gap of Rs68,742.65 crore, equating to 4.19% of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). Significant funding has been directed into agriculture, infrastructure, skill development, and industrial sectors.

The budget also addresses social welfare, allocating Rs18,497 crore for Scheduled Castes, Rs7,557 crore for Scheduled Tribes, and Rs39,007 crore for Backward Classes. The School Education and Health Departments have received Rs29,909 crore and Rs18,421 crore, respectively, further emphasizing Andhra Pradesh's commitment to enhancing human capital and public welfare systems.
