Kerala's Seaplane Project Ready to Soar: A New Era in Aerial Tourism
Kerala is launching its seaplane project, with the first aircraft arriving this Sunday. The initiative aims to boost tourism and other sectors by providing unique travel experiences and enhancing regional connectivity. It is part of the government's broader connectivity scheme.

Kerala's seaplane project is set for a grand debut, with the first seaplane scheduled to arrive at the Bolgatty backwaters this Sunday. The Minister of Tourism, P.A. Muhammad Riyas, is expected to inaugurate the trial run from Bolgatty to Mattupetti reservoir on Monday.
A formal welcome will greet the pilots at the Bolgatty Palace to mark this milestone. Transport Secretary Biju Prabhakar emphasized the project's potential to revolutionize tourism in Kerala, creating high-value opportunities beyond mere recreation.
Officially launched in Andhra Pradesh, the project is also a part of the Regional Connectivity Scheme, aiming to connect major water bodies and airports across Kerala, significantly boosting regional tourism and transport infrastructure.
