Overnight Missile Strikes Impact Strategic Bridge and Kyiv
Russian forces launched a missile attack on a key bridge in Ukraine's Odesa region. Using ballistic and guided missiles, the assault also targeted Kramatorsk. Ukrainian defenses intercepted some threats, but drone debris caused minor damages in Kyiv. The attacks highlight ongoing military tensions since Russia's 2022 invasion.
Overnight, Russian forces carried out a significant missile attack on a strategic bridge in Ukraine's southern Odesa region. The bridge, a crucial railway and car connection, was targeted with two ballistic Iskander missiles and eight guided missiles, according to Kyiv's military reports.
This infrastructure has been repeatedly targeted since the onset of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, though current damage assessments remain unclear. Regional authorities acknowledged the extensive missile attack but have not yet provided comprehensive details regarding the aftermath.
In addition, the eastern town of Kramatorsk was attacked with ballistic missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force successfully intercepted 17 out of 43 drones and two guided missiles overnight. Some drones were reportedly lost due to electronic warfare interference, and three exited Ukraine's airspace. In Kyiv, debris from downed drones caused a fire, damaged a power line, and affected nearby buildings. The capital's air defence successfully neutralized all drone threats.
