According to the Delhi Road Crash Fatalities Report 2023, pedestrians continue to be the most vulnerable group in road crashes, constituting 43% of the victims. This is followed by two-wheeler riders. Despite a marginal 0.55% decrease in road crash deaths, pedestrian safety remains a concern.

The report, released by Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, analyzes last year's accidents and provides insight into the causes and patterns. Suggestions for road design improvements, regulation, and prosecution are also included to enhance safety measures.

Efforts to improve road safety focus on multiple areas such as better engineering, effective enforcement, and emergency care. The Delhi Traffic Police aim to reduce fatalities through pedestrian-centric management, emphasizing infrastructure improvements and increased awareness campaigns.
