A Karnataka government team, led by Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and K-RIDE Managing Director Manjula N, inspected the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project at Kanakanagar on Tuesday. The project aims to create a strategic urban transportation system by elevating rail tracks, a significant step in high-density areas where traditional infrastructure is impractical.
According to K-RIDE, this innovation eliminates the need for level crossings, thus minimizing disruptions to the surrounding community. With the Kanakanagar to Hebbal section acting as a landmark advancement, officials showcased how efficient planning and commitment can enhance urban travel effectiveness.
Once the Suburban Railway is operational, Indian Railways trains will temporarily shift to the new tracks, allowing seamless restructuring of existing lines. This strategic development underscores Bengaluru's dedication to improving its residents' commuting experiences while setting a national precedent.
