Renault Nissan's Manufacturing Milestone: 4.5 Million Powertrains Produced
Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd's plant in Tamil Nadu has produced over 4.5 million powertrain units since 2010. The plant manufactures engines and gearboxes for domestic and international markets and has produced more than 2.75 million cars. A USD 600 million investment aims to upgrade infrastructure for future models.

The Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu has hit a significant milestone, producing over 4.5 million powertrain units since its inception in 2010, according to a company statement.
Situated in Oragadam, the 600-acre facility serves both domestic and international markets, manufacturing Renault and Nissan cars. Since operations began, the plant has produced over 2.75 million vehicles, seven different engine types, and three kinds of gearboxes.
The landmark milestone includes the production of 2.83 million engines and 1.67 million gearboxes. The plant has also exported more than 1.60 lakh electric vehicle reducer components. A USD 600 million investment plan is underway to enhance infrastructure for new models, stated Keerthi Prakash, Managing Director.
