WhatsApp Initiative Drives Down Bus Breakdown Times in Delhi

The Delhi Traffic Police and transport department launched a 'Break Down Management' WhatsApp group to tackle frequent bus breakdowns and associated traffic congestion. Since its inception in September, the group has reduced response times by coordinating swift repairs through nearby depots, ensuring smoother traffic flow.

In a bid to alleviate traffic disruptions caused by frequent bus breakdowns, the Delhi Traffic Police and the transport department have formed a collaborative WhatsApp group dubbed 'Break Down Management.'

This initiative, launched in September, has enabled officials to address breakdowns more efficiently, reducing response times by dispatching mechanics from nearby depots.

Officials have noted a marked improvement in traffic flow as a result of this swift action, which is coordinated through real-time updates shared among 70 group members, including depot managers and senior transport department staff.
