A tragic accident involving a tour bus and a truck on a Malaysian highway claimed the life of a Japanese tourist and left 12 others injured. The incident occurred in Perak state as the bus was travelling from Penang to the popular tourist destination of Cameron Highlands.

JTB Corp., one of Japan's largest travel agencies, confirmed that the victim, a woman in her 70s, succumbed to her injuries. The bus was carrying a group of senior Japanese citizens, along with a local tour guide and a driver, when it crashed into the rear of a truck on Thursday.

The company has expressed deep apologies and assured full cooperation with Malaysian authorities. Support teams from their Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo offices have been dispatched to assist the injured passengers and their families. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
