Flight operations resumed at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on Friday morning after a temporary suspension due to Cyclone Dana. The airport was closed since Thursday evening as a precautionary measure, officials reported.
With the first flight departing to Imphal and another arriving from Delhi, normalcy began returning to the airport amidst the clearing skies. Train services on the south section of the Sealdah Division also restarted operations at 10 am after cancellations due to the cyclone.
The cyclone's intense rain and winds impacted southern West Bengal and the Odisha coast, prompting the cancellation of numerous trains by the South Eastern Railway and Eastern Railway, affecting travel up to October 27.
