NLC India Ltd has announced the formation of two pivotal joint ventures with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL). The first venture, between NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL) and RRVUNL, is set to drive renewable energy projects across Rajasthan. A second joint initiative focuses on developing a lignite-based thermal power station.
The strategic partnerships signify a substantial advancement in sustainable energy and power production, aligning with NLC India Limited's ambitious goal to expand its energy capacity from the current 1.4 GW to 10 GW by 2030. This initiative marks NLCIL's tenth year in renewable energy, highlighted by projects in Neyveli, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Assam.
As part of its forward-looking strategy, NLCIL has created subsidiaries like NIRL and NLC India Green Energy Ltd (NIGEL) to enhance its renewable and clean energy profile. The company also participates in diverse projects, including solar, wind, energy storage, and green hydrogen, strengthening its leadership in sustainable development within the coal sector.
