BEST has terminated its contract with Hansa City Bus Service due to the operator's inability to maintain bus services. As a result, 280 mini-buses will be removed from Mumbai's roads. Passengers face increased waiting times and overcrowding. Despite past complaints, these buses proved useful during the lockdown.

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has ended its contract with Hansa City Bus Service Private Limited after unresolved disputes over the service's operational capabilities. This decision will see 280 red-colored air-conditioned mini-buses, leased under a wet lease model, pulled off Mumbai's roads.
BEST spokesperson Sudas Sawant confirmed the termination and initiation of legal proceedings. The withdrawal follows previous cancellations, adding to the fleet reduction and inconvenience faced by passengers.
While introduced in 2019 to enhance connectivity and navigate Mumbai's traffic, the Tempo Traveller model mini-buses received criticism for cramped conditions and maintenance issues. Despite this, during the lockdown, they were used effectively for transportation of essentials and healthcare workers.
