In a proactive response to Cyclone Dana, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw led a crucial meeting with senior officials on Wednesday, focusing on strategic measures to mitigate the storm's impact. The cyclone, set to strike Odisha, has already affected 150 train services.

The minister emphasized the importance of readiness and passenger convenience. The East Coast and South Eastern Railway zones presented their preparedness plans, including the setup of nine dedicated war rooms in West Bengal and Odisha, ensuring quick decision-making and service restoration.

Over 600 personnel are strategically deployed, and necessary resources like diesel locomotives, heavy machinery, and relief vans are on standby. Constant coordination with the India Meteorological Department enables real-time updates, guiding effective resource mobilization to address cyclone-related challenges.
