Authorities conducted a raid in Indore on Tuesday, seizing around 10,000 litres of a highly inflammable petroleum product stored illegally at a private unit. Officials confirmed the substance, disguised as industrial oil, was stored without a valid license.

District Food Controller ML Maru reported the discovery of the petroleum product, stored in drums at a facility in Mechanic Nagar. Discrepancies in purchase records indicated the product was sourced from Gujarat under dubious pretenses as industrial oil.

The situation posed significant risks due to the unit's proximity to factories and residential areas. Without a storage license or fire safety measures, the operation is under strict legal scrutiny. Samples are currently under laboratory testing for further analysis.
