Celebrating the first anniversary of Namo Bharat's operations, India's Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, embarked on a symbolic train journey along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor. Since its inauguration, the Namo Bharat trains have served an impressive 40 lakh passengers, significantly impacting regional commute ease and connectivity.

The minister reviewed progress on future expansions, with plans to link Delhi to Panipat and Alwar by next year. These developments promise to elevate the transport infrastructure and revolutionize public transit efficiency within the National Capital Region (NCR).

Namo Bharat services currently traverse a 42-kilometre route, covering nine key stations. An extension to a 54-kilometre stretch, adding the crucial Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar section, is underway. By 2025, the 82-kilometre corridor aims to offer swift, under-an-hour connectivity between Delhi and Meerut.
