Odisha Announces Diwali Delight with DA Hike

In a festive move ahead of Diwali, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a notable hike in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief for state government employees and pensioners on Monday.
The state government declared a 3 percent increase in DA, raising it from 50 percent to 53 percent, effective from July 1, 2024. This adjustment, communicated through the Chief Minister's Office, aims to provide financial relief to thousands just in time for the festival.
Pensioners are also set to benefit from a 3 percent increase in dearness relief, which will be reflected in their October pensions. The decision is expected to benefit approximately 7.5 lakh state government employees and pensioners, ensuring increased financial assistance during the festive season.
