In a significant development for Bihar's industrial sector, Industries Minister Nitish Mishra inaugurated the state's first Dry Port & Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Bihta, located on the outskirts of Patna.

The new facility is poised to enhance the state's logistics capabilities by offering modern warehousing and comprehensive customs services, coupled with multi-modal transport solutions.

This strategic move allows Bihar's exporters and importers to efficiently access customs clearance services, previously obtainable only in distant states, thus better positioning them in global markets. Officials confirmed that ICD Bihta, approved by the Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance, is well connected by rail to major ports like Kolkata, Haldia, and Visakhapatnam.
