In a decisive move to enhance aviation security, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu revealed on Monday the government's plan to introduce legislative measures aimed at addressing bomb threats against airlines.

The initiative comes in the wake of nearly 100 bomb threat incidents involving Indian airlines in the past week. These measures include adding those responsible for such threats to a no-fly list.

Naidu highlighted during a briefing that amendments to the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against Safety of Civil Aviation Act, 1982, and existing aviation security rules are underway. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security is in constant communication with the Ministry of Home Affairs to manage the current threat scenario.
