A bus caught fire on the periphery of Ranchi on a quiet Sunday evening, but emergency was averted as the driver and helper escaped the blaze unharmed, authorities reported.
The incident unfolded near a toll plaza within the jurisdiction of Ormanjhi police station. Anil Tiwari, the police station in-charge, confirmed that the fire was contained within an hour, thankfully without any passengers officially reported on board.
In contrast, local residents insisted a few passengers were indeed on the bus at the time. They stepped in to assist in the swift and safe evacuation of everyone involved.
