Indore, a tier-two city in Madhya Pradesh, is poised to launch its first double-decker bus service, as announced by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava. The service, operated by Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited, represents a milestone for tier-two cities in India.
The bus, which has the capacity to transport 60 passengers, will undergo trial runs and route finalizations before being dedicated for public use. Mayor Bhargava emphasized the significance of this development, marking it as a notable achievement for the city.
Currently, one double-decker bus is in service, with additional vehicles contingent on the success of the initiative. Bhargava expressed optimism that this service, a first for Madhya Pradesh and any tier-two city, will pave the way for more such advancements in public transport.
