In a shocking development, more than 30 flights operated by several Indian airlines received bomb threats on Saturday, leading to mass chaos at airports and raising security concerns nationwide. The threats affected flights from prominent airlines such as Air India, Vistara, IndiGo, Akasa Air, SpiceJet, Star Air, and Alliance Air.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security promptly conducted a meeting with airline CEOs to devise strategies for handling the threats. This week alone, over 70 flights faced similar threats, with the majority deemed hoaxes. The threats primarily surfaced via social media platforms, and in one instance, a threatening note was discovered in-flight.

Specific flights across various airlines were targeted, prompting rigorous security checks and isolating affected planes in dedicated bays. An active handle that issued the threats has since been deactivated. In response, the civil aviation ministry aims to implement stricter regulations to curb such hoax threats in the future.
