Dalmia Bharat Ltd experienced a sharp decline in consolidated net profit, dropping by 60.16% to Rs 49 crore for the September quarter, attributed to declining cement prices, as stated in a regulatory filing.

The company reported a revenue drop of 2.09% to Rs 3,087 crore during this period, compared to Rs 3,153 crore in the same quarter last year. Total income decreased by 2.28%, despite a 14.1% rise in sales volume to 6.7 million tonnes.

CFO Dharmender Tuteja noted the external challenges affecting profitability but emphasized the company's focus on long-term cost efficiencies. The company also expanded its renewable energy capacity by commissioning a 16 MW solar power plant in Tamil Nadu, bringing total renewable energy consumption to 39%.
