Curfew measures in Martinique aimed at curbing the violent protests over soaring living costs have been prolonged for another week, according to the local administration of the Caribbean island.
Initially intended to conclude on October 14, the curfew—strictly enforcing a nighttime lockdown from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.—has now been extended until October 21. During these hours, only essential travel, such as work or health emergencies, will be permitted.
