Delhi Police has requested the Public Works Department to remove a road divider on Josip Broz Tito Marg at Chirag Delhi crossing to help ease traffic congestion and improve commuter convenience, officials reported on Friday. The divider removal is expected to eliminate bottlenecks that hinder left turns towards Outer Ring Road Nehru Place.

Currently, heavy traffic, especially during peak hours, obstructs smooth vehicular movement, causing delays and discomfort for drivers. The letter from the police highlighted that the divider bisects the road, affecting service road utilization and traffic flow.

Authorities noted that removing approximately 50 meters of the divider, beyond a local bus stand, would significantly widen the lane, facilitating a smoother left turn for vehicles and enhancing traffic management.
