A goods train bound for Kundanganj collided with a cement sleeper obstructing its path on the Raebareli-Prayagraj railway section, as reported by officials on Wednesday. The incident occurred late Tuesday night, involving a train originating from Satna in Madhya Pradesh, situated between the Lakshmanpur and Daryapur stations near Benikama.

Despite the driver's attempts to apply emergency brakes, the engine's cattle guard made contact with the object. Subsequently, the disruptive sleeper section was removed, allowing the train to resume its journey. The Railway Protection Force has announced an investigation into the matter, and an FIR has been filed at the Unchahar GRP post. Two specialized teams have been assigned to the case, rail officials confirmed.

In a related development, Railway officials conducted a site inspection on Wednesday as part of the ongoing investigation. Previously, on Sunday, a passenger train faced a brief halt when its loco pilot spotted a pile of soil dumped on the tracks near Raghuraj Singh Station in Raebareli.
