In a promising turn for India's telecom sector, the average monthly revenue per mobile user has seen a notable year-on-year increase of over 8%, reaching Rs 157.45 by the end of June 2024, according to a report from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

The wireless sector's average revenue per user stood at Rs 153.54 in the January-March period, reflecting a sequential increase of 2.55%. TRAI's report further highlights a 0.13% quarterly rise in the Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) to Rs 70,555 crore, marking a year-on-year growth of 7.51%.

Subscriber numbers also showed an upward trend, with the total telephone subscriber base reaching 1,205.64 million, a growth of 0.53% from the previous quarter. Reliance Jio reported a significant 9.18% surge in its subscriber base, while figures for Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea saw mixed results.
