Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday announced government plans to introduce app-based cab services to and from MBB Airport, aiming to provide passengers with more comfortable and cost-effective travel options.
He noted that while prepaid taxi and auto services are currently available, they fall short compared to services like Ola and Uber, justifying the new initiative.
Chowdhury assured local transporters that their interests would not be compromised and urged existing taxi operators to remain at the airport until the last flight lands, to ensure optimal service.
Additionally, Chowdhury mentioned potential delays in launching international flight services from Agartala to Chittagong, Bangladesh, but affirmed they would be introduced eventually.
