Ashok Leyland Reports 10% YoY Drop in September Sales
Ashok Leyland, a commercial vehicle maker, reported a 10% year-on-year decline in total sales, including exports, for September 2023. The company's domestic medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales dropped by 13%, while light commercial vehicle sales also saw a decline. Overall domestic sales fell by 12% year-over-year.

Commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland announced a 10% year-on-year decrease in its total sales, including exports, for September 2023. The company's total vehicle sales last month were 19,202 units.
Sales figures for medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCVs) including exports stood at 11,077 units, marking a 13% decline from 12,752 units sold in September 2022. Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales, both domestic and exports, reached 6,156 units, down from 6,450 the previous year, the company noted.
Domestically, combined M&HCV and LCV sales dropped by 12% to 16,041 vehicles, compared to 18,193 units sold in September last year, Ashok Leyland confirmed, resulting in a 5% overall dip.
