The price of jet fuel, or Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), was slashed by 6.3% on Tuesday, marking its lowest point this year. This move offers significant relief to airlines for whom fuel accounts for nearly 40% of operating costs.

This significant reduction, amounting to Rs 5,883 per kilolitre in the national capital, follows a prior cut of Rs 4,495.5 per kilolitre on September 1. However, this good news comes alongside an increase in commercial LPG rates by Rs 48.5 per 19-kg cylinder.

This latest increase makes it the third straight monthly hike in commercial LPG prices, following previous increments in August and September. State-owned oil companies also noted that the price of cooking gas for domestic use remains unchanged.
