Farm and construction equipment manufacturer Escorts Kubota Ltd disclosed a 2.5% increase in tractor sales for September, reaching 12,380 units compared to 12,081 units sold in the same month last year.
Domestic tractor sales surged by 5.7% to 11,985 units, up from 11,334 units over the same period last year, according to a regulatory filing by the company.
Escorts Kubota Ltd attributed this growth to favorable monsoon conditions, which have replenished water reservoirs and improved trade terms, predicting robust sales in the second half of the current fiscal year. However, the company's tractor exports declined, selling only 395 units compared to 747 last September.
