Pope Francis Debunks Rumors of Notre-Dame Visit
Pope Francis has denied claims by a French media source that he will be attending the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris in December. The Pope addressed the rumors on his flight back to Rome from Singapore. Additionally, he mentioned he is contemplating a visit to Argentina, his homeland, this year.
Pope Francis on Friday firmly denied a French media report that he will go to Paris in December for the reopening of Notre-Dame cathedral. "I will not go to Paris," he said on a flight back to Rome from Singapore.
A small French outlet had reported the pope would go for the cathedral's planned Dec. 8 reopening ceremony, five years after a devastating fire.
The 87-year-old pontiff also said on Friday he was still considering whether to travel this year to Argentina, his home country.
