The government has rolled out new incentives for exports via the courier medium, focusing on boosting e-commerce shipments. This decision was unveiled during the Board of Trade (BoT) meeting in Mumbai.

Officials from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) announced that RoDTEP, RoSCTL, and drawback benefits would be extended to all courier exports. Plans are also underway to apply these benefits to postal route exports, leveling the playing field for e-commerce exporters.

The move is part of the government's broader push to enhance e-commerce exports, currently valued at around USD 2 billion. Estimates suggest that India's e-commerce export potential could reach USD 200-300 billion by 2030. Additionally, new online portals aim to streamline services and grievance resolution for exporters as part of ease of doing business reforms.
