An IPSOS survey commissioned by Amazon reveals that half of the respondents are planning to increase their online shopping expenditure for the upcoming festive season.

The survey, conducted between July and August 2024, gathered responses from 7,263 participants across 35 centres including major cities like Delhi NCR, Kolkata, and Jaipur.

According to the survey, 89 per cent of participants expressed excitement for the festivities, with 71 per cent indicating their intention to shop online. Nearly 50 per cent of these online shoppers plan to spend more compared to last year. The trend is consistent across both metro areas and tier-2 cities. Convenience emerges as a significant driver, with 76 per cent of respondents valuing the ability to shop remotely at any time. Additionally, 74 per cent appreciate speedy delivery, while 75 per cent trust online shopping events to offer genuine products. Affordable payment options such as no-cost EMI also play a crucial role.
