Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh has accused the BJP's policies of causing financial difficulties for the state. He clarified that the issue is not a financial crisis but a cash flow mismatch, which the government is addressing with strict financial discipline measures.
During a heated discussion in the state assembly, Opposition Leader Jai Ram Thakur countered that the Congress had made false promises to secure power and demanded an apology from Sukhu for allegedly misleading the public. Displeased with Sukhu's response, BJP members exited the assembly in protest.
Sukhu disclosed that substantial funds are spent on salaries and pensions annually and mentioned ongoing efforts to reclaim state funds held by the central government. He assured financial improvements and resource mobilization efforts, including policy amendments and new projects, to steer the state toward self-reliance by 2027.
