NEW DELHI: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Environment, Science, and Technology, Pawan Kalyan, has pledged a significant Rs 4 Crores for 400 flood-affected panchayats in Andhra Pradesh. Each panchayat will receive Rs 1 Lakh to aid in rebuilding and recovery efforts. Additionally, Kalyan has donated Rs 1 Crore each to the Telangana CM Relief Fund and the AP CM Relief Fund, highlighting his commitment to both states during critical times.

This announcement comes after the unprecedented 13,326 Grama Sabhas held across Andhra Pradesh, a massive grassroots governance effort orchestrated by Kalyan. These sabhas brought together village residents and leaders to discuss development and actively participate in decision-making, striving toward the creation of 'Swarna Panchayats'—thriving, self-sustained communities prioritizing economic empowerment, education, and sustainable development. These gatherings were not only for discussion but also served as platforms for direct action.

Looking ahead, Kalyan has proposed that Grama Sabhas be held four times a year to continually address the evolving needs of rural areas, fostering an ongoing development process shaped by villagers themselves. Supported by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's strategic vision, Kalyan is steering Andhra Pradesh toward a new era of rural revitalization by blending modern solutions with traditional wisdom. His approach emphasizes genuine empowerment, in contrast with the YSRCP's less effective decentralization efforts, ensuring that the state's villages are actively part of its progress.
