Polish travel platform eSky Group has signed agreements with China's Fosun Tourism Group to acquire Thomas Cook, the world's oldest travel firm, for 30 million pounds ($39.48 million). This acquisition does not cover Thomas Cook's operations in China. eSky aims to strengthen its presence in Western Europe through this deal.

Thomas Cook collapsed in 2019 under heavy debt but was acquired by Fosun Tourism Group for 11 million pounds. eSky Group, founded in 2004, operates in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas, and Africa. This move aligns with eSky's strategy to diversify and expand its package holiday offerings.

Lukasz Habaj, co-founder and CEO of eSky Group, stated that the synergy of Thomas Cook's brand heritage with eSky's technology would enhance growth and fortify eSky's position in Western Europe. MCI Capital, which holds a 55% stake in eSky, believes the acquisition could boost the company's package sales to over EUR 233 million ($258.61 million) next year.
