The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has initiated a probe into the discovery of an aircraft engine part found outside the Delhi airport, sources revealed on Wednesday.
While initial reports suggest the metal part could belong to an Air India Express aircraft that made an emergency landing on Monday, the airline has not confirmed this. An Air India Express spokesperson stated their flight IX 145 had an engine issue post-takeoff from Delhi on September 2 and made a precautionary landing.
The matter is now under investigation, with the airline reporting the incident to the regulator and other relevant agencies. The spokesperson noted metal pieces found at Shankar Vihar may be linked to their aircraft, but confirmation is pending.
