Jeff Rowe, CEO of Switzerland-based Syngenta Group, has raised concerns over bureaucratic delays in regulatory approvals for innovative agricultural products in India. He urged the Indian government to expedite the approval process to benefit farmers.
Amid growing challenges due to climate change, Rowe stressed the need to ensure rapid availability of innovative solutions to farmers to mitigate risks. In an exclusive interview with PTI, Rowe outlined Syngenta's strategies for the Indian market, focusing on innovation to address climate change and food security issues.
Rowe, on his first visit to India in his current role, praised the Indian government's push for consumer digitisation and expressed hope for a similar modernization of regulatory approvals in the agricultural sector. Highlighting Syngenta's role, Rowe emphasized the company's investment in digital technology and crop modeling to help farmers adapt to changing climatic conditions.
