The India Bio-Energy & Tech Expo 2024 held at the Yashobhoomi Dwarka convention center in New Delhi honored major contributors to India's biodiesel sector. The event highlighted the achievements of biodiesel suppliers during the financial year 2023-24.

Key players in the biodiesel industry were recognized for their efforts by Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, and Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) was awarded for the highest volume and blending percentage of biodiesel, while Emami Agrotech Pvt. Ltd. was honored as the largest supplier to Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in the large category. Other awardees included Blue Stone Energy Pvt. Ltd. and Chemenergy Biofuels Pvt. Ltd.

Nitin Gadkari emphasized biofuels' crucial role in reducing fossil fuel dependency, projecting bioenergy to constitute 50% of India's fossil fuel consumption in five years. He called for lowering the GST on flex-fuel vehicles to foster greener alternatives. Organized by the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE), the expo also provided a platform for discussing bioenergy technologies and India's green energy goals.
