Tata Motors on Sunday reported an 8 per cent rise in total wholesales, reaching 71,693 units in August, up from 78,010 units in the same month last year. This marks a significant growth despite market fluctuations.

However, the company's total domestic sales fell by 8 per cent, recording 70,006 units compared to 76,261 units in the previous year. This dip presents challenges in retaining market share amidst dynamic industry conditions.

Specifically, sales of passenger vehicles, including electric vehicles, in the domestic market saw a modest 3 per cent increase to 44,142 units from 45,513 units last year. Meanwhile, total commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market declined by 3 per cent year-on-year, totaling 25,864 units against 30,748 units in August 2023.
