The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has stepped up its surveillance on SpiceJet, a crisis-stricken airline, by initiating increased spot checks and night surveillance.
This action follows reports of frequent flight cancellations and severe financial stress within the airline. Last month's special audit on August 7 and 8 exposed several deficiencies in SpiceJet's engineering facilities.
Consequently, DGCA will implement more stringent oversight measures immediately to ensure the safety of the airline's operations, as outlined in their recent release.
