In a significant move, the Himachal Pradesh government announced on Wednesday its autonomous implementation of the Rs 1,000 crore Bulk Drug Park Project, offering land and electricity at subsidised rates to lure investors.
The ambitious project aims to establish a vast drug manufacturing facility covering 570 hectares in the Haroli assembly segment of Una district, with completion slated by March 31, 2026. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized the project's potential to attract Rs 50,000 crore in investments and create 20,000 jobs.
Energy subsidies will see investors paying Rs 3 per unit for electricity, despite the state's purchase price being Rs 7 per unit. The initiative, backed by the Himachal Pradesh Bulk Drug Park Infrastructure Limited, also includes provisions for waste management and will be revisited after 10 years.
