Medanta Gurugram has been distinguished as the first hospital to receive the title of 'Active Emerging Lung Transplant Centre in North India' from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO).

This accolade was awarded to the Medanta Institute of Lung Transplantation, headed by Dr Arvind Kumar, in recognition of its commitment to advancing specialized lung care and promoting organ donation awareness in India. 'Lung transplantation represents the pinnacle of hope for those battling end-stage lung diseases,' said Dr Kumar. 'Our dedication has culminated in the successful completion of 15 lung transplant procedures since November 2022, the highest number for a new center.'

Dr Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director of Global Health Limited (Medanta), stated, 'This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to medical science and patient outcomes. Our lung transplant program, marked by rigorous protocols and collaborations, aims to resolve complex cases and improve patient outcomes.'
