Japanese car audio and entertainment system maker Pioneer on Tuesday announced its intention to forge partnerships with automakers in India as part of its strategic growth plans.
Although Pioneer has long served global automakers, its Indian focus has traditionally been on the aftermarket segment. This marks a significant shift, with Pioneer India MD Aniket Kulkarni stating that entering the OEM (original equipment maker) market will be a key growth driver going forward.
Kulkarni revealed that Pioneer is already in active discussions with various automakers, though details remain undisclosed. The company plans to enhance localization by collaborating with local contract manufacturers and recently launched four dash camera models in India, eyeing exponential growth in the market.
