L'Oreal India has reached a significant milestone by ensuring that all its operations, including manufacturing plants in Baddi and Chakan, as well as research centers and offices, now run on 100% renewable energy. This achievement aligns with L'Oreal's global sustainability goals to combat climate change and support India's Net Zero targets.

Over the past decade, L'Oreal has focused on sustainable growth, making energy-conscious decisions to minimize the environmental impact of its operations in India. The company prioritizes transparency in sourcing renewable energy, utilizing tracked systems to verify the origin of its electricity from specific wind and solar sources.

L'Oreal's Chakan plant transitioned to wind and solar energy by October 2023, replacing natural gas with biomass boilers, and installing solar panels for reliable energy supply. The Baddi plant moved to hydro power and electric boilers in January 2022, slashing diesel consumption. In locations where grid electricity is used, the company purchases certificates to verify renewable energy sources.
