Economic Recovery in Himachal Pradesh: Stabilization and Future Commitments

He emphasized rationalizing subsidies and disclosed detailed financial allocations. Despite facing significant debt from the previous government, efforts include increasing dearness allowances and establishing centers for education and de-addiction support.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has assured that Himachal Pradesh's economy will stabilize within six months, allowing for the disbursement of additional arrears and dearness allowances. In a recent event in Solan, Sukhu emphasized the need for rationalizing subsidies on electricity and water to ensure that benefits reach those truly in need.
Providing detailed insights into the state's financial management, Sukhu revealed that out of every Rs 100 spent by the current government, Rs 25 goes to salaries, Rs 17 to pensions, Rs 11 to interest payments, Rs 9 to debt repayment, Rs 10 to grants for autonomous institutions, and the remaining Rs 28 to capital expenditures and other activities.
Despite inheriting financial challenges from the previous administration, Sukhu's government has provided a seven percent dearness allowance to employees and plans to pay arrears to 28,000 pensioners. The chief minister also announced the establishment of a Center of Excellence in Kandaghat for disabled children and a state-level Adarsh De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center in Kotla Barog, Sirmaur.
