Rahul Sharma has been appointed as the new India-based Managing Director of the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, effective immediately. According to USIBC, Sharma is set to lead a team of policy experts to support the council's over-200 member companies and further strengthen U.S.-India partnerships and prosperity.

Sharma succeeds Alexander Slater, who is returning to Washington, D.C. following the USIBC's India Ideas Summit on September 12 in New Delhi. Slater will take on the role of Senior Advisor to USIBC President and Ambassador (Ret.) Atul Keshap. "We are thrilled to welcome Rahul Sharma to the USIBC family," stated Keshap, highlighting Sharma's extensive experience and proven track record in media, policy, and corporate advisory and communications.

With nearly four decades of experience, Sharma joins USIBC after leading APCO India for six years. His background includes roles at FICCI, Reuters, Hindustan Times, and other organizations. As USIBC approaches its Golden Jubilee in 2025, Sharma's leadership is expected to play a crucial role in augmenting U.S.-India business ties.
